The "Conversation Topics" Thread

#1
As we can mostly talk only about the topics that we know a lot about, it seems that if we read a lot and write a lot about a certain topic in Japanese, we will also be able to keep the conversation smooth and interesting.

What are the best conversation topics in your opinion?

In other words, what kind of topics are good (and interesting) for googling and reading, with the aim of eventually being able to talk about them with Japanese people?

*人間関係
*旅行
*文化の違い(日本、外国)
*愛
*感情
*人を驚かせること
*パーティ

It all obviously depends on the person and the Japanese he/she is talking to but still, there may be some topics interesting to everyone.

All kinds of more specific topics that are interesting might also become useful.

What kind of topics do you like to speak about?

The topics one speaks about also influence the other people's impression of what kind of a person one is and collaterally influence what kind of a person he/she is when using Japanese.

The topics you pick up might even play a more important role than your Japanese ability.

good idea for a topic!!!

it's weird, as soon as someone says something like "what do you talk about" i can't think of a single thing... Sad

I will add:

-アニメ、漫画
-映画
-料理
-音楽, 楽器
-仕事 / 大学 / 学校
-天気 (日本と外国の違い)
-文学
-政治
-世界の問題 (たとえば地球温暖化)
-スポーツ

Also, don't know if you can call it a topic but something like an exchange of photos/movies of your neighborhood is pretty cool idea.
