I've recently watched ホタルノヒカリ season 1 & 2. It portrays the life a young woman who secretly lives together with her boss. I find it interesting how dedicated the characters are to their job and freely work overtime. They even spend their spare time with their colleagues and marry them. If they have nothing to do during the evenings, weekends or three-day summer holidays they go to their work place to hang out. Is it just me, or is a couple that is about to get married but not even kisses except for some brief moments a bit unusual? Besides, what's with the paranoia of being seen with seen with a t-shirt and sweatpants even if the dresscode in the company is rather casual for normal employees? Still, I recommend you to watch ホタルノヒカリ!

正義の味方 (Seigi no Mikata) is very entertaining. I particularly liked the dialogues between the older sister and her boss, the harmonious relationship of her parents and the younger sister's facial expressions.

If you like Otaku culture try アキハバラ＠DEEP. A crazy and funny drama located in Akihabara.

For a drama with a more serious tone I very much recommend ライフ. The story is based on a manga and is about a girl who is bullied at school. I think the kidnapping scene was slightly over the top and didn't really fit into the main theme of bullying but it doesn't compromise a great drama. I especially liked the fast-paced feel and the score that added to it.

I've started to like the fairly serious dramas. My favorites I've seen lately are

Mother - A story about a teacher who kidnaps an abused child she was teaching

99-nen no ai -Japanese-American - A story of multiple generations of Japanese-American's and their lives in America.

hotaru no hikari is hot because it has haruse ayaka =)

although i only saw the first episode of the first season...
