国語辞典 in EPWING format ... any thoughts/suggestions?

#1
Hey there, I was wondering if there were any suggestions for a good 国語辞典 in EPWING format. I know some of the users on here use epwing dictionaries, so if you have any experience then I'd like to hear your thoughts. Sadly, all of the free epwing dictionaries are either E-E, J-X (J-E, J-F, and J-D), or encyclopedias (Wikipedia日本語版, PDD, etc.), but I'm interested in an actual dictionary since I cannot look up meanings for mundane words in an Encyclopedia. Of course the price ranges from $30 to $300 on Amazon, but I am sure the quality and size of those dictionaries varies greatly. That's why I wanted to ask for some thoughts.

Of course the reason I like the idea of EPWING is that it is platform independent, so if I change my phone I can move it on to the next one. Right now, I plan to put it in my iPhone for the iDict+ Advanced app that also triples as an RSS reader, web browser, and epwing browser. So, that's why I have come to you all to ask for help Smile

Thanks in advance

There are lots of good ones!^-^ I like Daijisen myself, as a great general-use dictionary (Daijirin, which is similar, is also popular). Meikyou is also pretty easy to read, and Koujien is great for archaic Japanese. I still keep EDICT and Kenkyuusha's 新和英大辞典 around, because occasionally one of them have a word defined that none of the others do, which is why I love the multi-dictionary search function in EPWING readers! Did you see my thread about EPWING in the "RTK Share" Google group? I think it has what you seek.

Thanks a lot, I'll look at some of those dictionaries you suggested to see if they work for me. Also, I had no idea there was an RTK share group. I'll look for that thread when I get access to the group.
