what's your favorite audio media player?

What's your favorite mp3/audio player for your computer?

I tried itunes and I find that I like it but sometimes it has problems loading my library correctly and if I make changes it sometimes doesn't work properly. I'm running win7 too.

I tired mediamonkey and I LOVE the way it organizes my music library. It's not complicated at all to make changes and if I make changes it actually changes the music file and not just the directory. So that's a plus. I would use this program permanently BUT it's rarely updated and if there is a big update to windows often times it break and I'm without a media player until there is a fix.

I tried winamp for a bit, but find it a bit archaic and unintuitive for my needs. I'm not completely closed to the idea of using it, it just seems so cluttered.

What about songbird? I'm messing around with it. Can anyone recommend it?

Which one do you use the most often and why?

Foobar2000. I find it to be a nice combination of simplicity and customizability.

I like realplayer. It let's you convert music to any format, as well as download streaming videos off the internet. Also, it has a self contained library, meaning I don't have to go searching through a gazillion folders to find where I left my music, but it can also play music not in its library. It's also easy to make a playlist in realplayer by dragging and dropping the songs/videos you want into the playlist editor. I find it easy to use and rather uncluttered. Otherwise I use winamp, I like being able to customize the skin (mine is steampunked, just like my firefox)

I'm not fond of itunes, I use it only to manage my ipod music, otherwise it's a bulky program that takes up way too much processing power for a music program.

If you like mediamonkey, but have problems with it when windows updates, then just don't update windows. I don't recommend updating windows anyways, last time I did an update it updated wrong and broke my computer.

I didn't know that anyone actually likes realplayer. Looooooooooool.

Realplayer might be the only program that has made me imagine myself happily killing the people who made it.

Hah, that's my reaction to itunes. It causes me more grief than practically any other program I use. Realplayer causes no grief...everything is happy. Though at this moment, I'm using winamp to play a song I downloaded from youtube using realplayer. It's not a contradiction, I swear.

I looked up foobar2000 and will give it a look. Is there reason that you like it over the others nestor?

I can't stand realplayer either but if people like it that's totally cool. For me realplayer died 5 or more years ago. I put real player in the same camp as winamp. They are older than the internet itself.

and finally, I'm really digging songbird. It's organized similarly to mediamonkey but has lots of other cool features (firefox built into it!) that mediamonkey doesn't have. It was nice while it lasted mm.

Songbird takes a ton of resources and tries to do too much (why the ***** do I need a web browser in my music player).

For a straight up music player that will play music and not rape your RAM, foobar2000 seems the best.
