Where does the ホ in ホワイト come from? Just curious. Whenever I hear the word I think of the episode of Family Guy with Stewie trying to say cool whip. Smile

That is exactly where it comes from. The way Stewie pronounced it is the way the "wh" digraph was originally pronounced in English (it is still pronounced that way in Scottish English, Irish English, Southern US English, and by some pedantic people from other regions). My Webster dictionary-thesaurus actually has [hw] as the correct pronunciation of wh-words. Read here for more details.
