I'd like an iPad version. If this keyword -> Kanji thing gets fixed I might buy it.
Is there a built in SRS, and can you choose only to study up to a certain point, like on this site?

Does this sync with the RTK website's SRS? That would be awesomely convenient.

I'm in touch with MIRAI since they are a sponsor. They've asked me if there are export options on RevTK (which they are). They may be working on an import feature for the stories. Don't hold your breath though: it's just something they are looking at and I'm sure they already have a long to do list.

Keyword to kanji and story import, as well as SRS/Leitner-style flashcards, are definite must-haves. I can say this and see the app as having potential instead of ignoring the app as hopelessly inferior, now that I know they have connections to this site. ^_^

Wonder if the powers that be will just up and ask Fabrice if RevTK can be the official reviewing website for the book. Anything like that ever happen Fabrice?

Well even more than story import, I'd like to see that if you do your reviews on the app it will upload your progress to the revTK site.

I contacted the app's author and they said they're working on a way to save your flashcard progress. I'd use it more when this feature is added.

The Flashcard system they use is not SRS. It is the exactly the same as the "Japanese" app from Code From Tokyo..
It seems a pre-made building block. It doesn't look very useful to me and I think they cannot do it better without rewriting the whole flashcard code.
The best function of the app is to browse kanji's in RTK1 and RTK2, for flashcard nothing beats Anki IMHO.

They told me yesterday that an update for saving flashcard state and exporting stories via csv has been submitted and will be up when approved by Apple.

I bought this a while ago (it was only £4 or so) and I'm pretty happy with it. It looks great on the ipad, is very useful for checking stroke orders and for using along with reviews on this site. I find the flashcards useful for revising the last few lessons after I've worked through them.

Just seen, 1.3 has the ability to import stories (in csv). AWESOME !
Is there a way to get a csv of the most popular story of each kanji from RTK?
(Other than manually saving it under my account which would take ... forever !
(A thousand thanks in advance if this is possible !)

I'd really like to try out the app, but I can't because my phone is using iOS 3.1.3 / 5.12.01. Could anyone explain how to update to iOS 4+ while preserving the ability to jailbreak and unlock the phone? None of the information online seems to explain how to upgrade safely while skipping so many updates and preserving an older baseband.
Also, since I'm only interested in adding this app, what iOS is worth upgrading to (4.0, 4.2.1, 4.3.1, etc)?
Edit: More information
iphone 3Gs
I'm currently using iTunes 9.0.2.25
I've already downloaded
iPhone2,1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore.ipsw
iPhone2,1_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw
my previous jailbreak was with Spirit
and I'm using Vista

Some of the keywords are wrong... For example look up 祢 or 牟 and you'll see what I mean

祢 and 牟 aren't in the app (it only covers RTK1).
I'd agree a few keywords could be improved, but Heisig's choices for 祢 and 牟 check out ok in the Kanjigen and Kangorin (Japanese kanji dictionaries).

JayRK, did you use the list that Katsuo mentioned? I downloaded the app and your list - thanks very much.
