But thinking seriously seriously about it: Now is a very practical time to learn words relating to the incident - they could prove useful. So why not compile a list?

Just watch the news as it happens every morning. For the next week you will be exposed to all this vocabulary enough that you will know it.

I would rather do a shared Anki deck, in that way there is no problem of having duplicate fields. I am already doing one with yomichan. I really think that it is important to understand what the news are saying, even it is a depressing thing.

Just paste everything from the spreadsheet in to a text document and save with the correct encoding. (I can't remember what that is but Anki will tell you if it's wrong when you try to import, and you can just resave it.) Create a model for the cards you want to make, then select import from the file menu in Anki and choose the document you just saved. Select Tab as the field delimiter and Anki will automatically make all the cards.

Wouldn't 福島（原発事故）に関する言葉 be the more "native" way of saying it?

For such a commonly taught and "basic" grammar point like について, you sure don't see it used that much.

I hear について a whole lot more than 関する. But it's probably more popular in written Japanese...

I also suggest learning all prefectures (imagine not knowing what Idaho means and how its spelled) along with their capital/major city.
