A bit of a meaningless post really. I really like Get Tough by G.P.S. right now. It's the opening to Giant Killing.

あまり好きじゃないけど・・・。僕は「ヒカルの碁」の音楽を褒めています。「GET OVER」がとてもいい歌と存じます。そして「瞳の力」も聴き易い。日本の音楽のなかでOPが一番好きなタイプなあと思います。

There are way too many OPs I like, so I will mention only a few. I really like Cagayake!GIRLS from けいおん!, especially its bassline. Actually, it is hard for me to think of a slice of life series OP that I did not like (I also like what Masaaki Endoh did to the ひだまりスケッチ OP - converting 萌え into manliness!). As for other anime genres, I love all five of the コードギアス OPs, both for the songs and the animation sequences, especially the first and last ones. I am also amazed at how ドラえもんのうた makes me feel all nostalgic, even though I didn't watch the show as a child.

Also, even though it's an ED, I would really like to mention Ride On Shooting Star from フリクリ by the pillows, probably my favourite piece of anime music of all time, right next to 桜が丘女子高等学校校歌[Rock Ver.] from けいおん!! [/otaku gushing]

Well, a lot of openings are great, but these two got stuck in my memory (you know them):
asagirinomiko and
deathnote 2.

Being a borderline hikikomori, I guess I took that song a little too personally. I did find it hilarious as well, in a "What are you laughing at?" sort of way.

Getting back on, I forgot to mention this song from 涼宮ハルヒちゃんの憂鬱, easily the weirdest OP song ever (although, due to the format of the show, it is an OP in name only).

The opening of Paranoia Agent is great; great nightmare fuel. I also liked how the openings of Aria the Animation blended seamlessly with the episodes; and how the openings of Baccano and Durarara included the recaps of the previous episodes.

Meh, I don't care how similar the animations are, I still love openings

I LOVE this opening, it make me feel inspired and motivational: Butterfly. Even though it isn't an opening, another song from the same show is also worth mentioning: Brave Heart

I grew up with this anime, and it was one of the reasons that made me study Japanese, because I loved the musicality of the japanese songs.

been enjoying the 猫撫ディストーション OP recently, it did make it jump to the top of my 'to read' queue too.
