I'm betting that several people have already thought of this, or that there is already an easier way. But, I figure I should throw this out just in case it might be a useful idea.
I was thinking that subs2srs could be used to create Japanese subtitles for movies. Basically, you would create a deck using the available English subtitles. Then, enter the Japanese text for each bit of dialogue and somehow extract an .srt using the new Japanese text with the timings from the English subtitles. There might be a few advantages. For one, you can playback each bit of dialog on repeat until you get the transcript just perfect. Plus, you could distribute the deck to have other people work on it (after suspending cards/dialogue that you have completed).
Has this already thought of? Or is there an easier way to create subtitles?
