Surfing/Snowboarding Movies and Documentaries?

#1
Hey peoples

So I am a surfer and snowboarder who loves watching surfing and snowboarding movies and documentaries. Just wondering if there are any good ones from Japan and/or in Japanese.

Examples:
-Step into Liquid
-Riding Giants
-First Decent
-Endless Summer 1 & 2

Thanks!

Don't know any specific shows but all of the snowboarding and surfing magazines in Japan come with monthly DVDs.

I did notice that at least some of them do come with DVDs. In fact, I picked up a copy of Surfin' Life from Kinokuniya (in Costa Mesa) that had a DVD in it... but the audio was all in English and video quality was extremely bad :/

I had some that were in Japanese. Usually just a music video plus a guy explaining some tricks.

Sorry, i don't know any really quality documentaries like the ones you mentioned, but...

kyuushuu open:
1 http://www.vidoevo.com/yvideo.php?i=bVFs...jQ&a201001
2 http://www.vidoevo.com/yvideo.php?i=VE8w...HM&a201002
etc. there's quite a lot on this site...

here's a couple of longboard ones:

ummm... not really it, but here's a documentary about a windsurfer:

if you know the names of some Japanese surfers, you can probably find better ones!

snowboarding:
KFILMS has speaking: http://www.youtube.com/user/Kfilms1
kokubo interview:

and videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/0202arisa#g/u
chentv (has a bunch of videos, check the channel):

(introduction to snowboarding:
)

here's a transcript of a short video i made ages ago: http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=4199

there are tons of videos, but loads of them are just music, so it can be difficult to find...

Sweeeet! Thanks a ton. I tried searching youtube myself but couldn't find anything. Maybe I was searching for the wrong stuff... Subscribed to K Films and Chen TV.

Those NO MATTER BOARD videos seem pretty cool too. Is there a way to subscribe to someone on niconico? (still a newby)

Gonna have stop watching videos for now or else I'm gonna have to start messin' with some of my boards and stuff... midnight in cali Tongue

If I find more stuff I'll be sure to post it up here.

Thanks again!

Anyone else got stuff to share??? hmmm???

A swell travels just under the surface the length of an ocean, then ripens when the conditions are right into a wave. When its energy is spent, it crashes and returns indistinguishable from every other drop of water into the sea.

I was happily searching for 'documentaries' and this was what I found Big Grin

That's why I revived it Big Grin Wanted to see it being more active.
Should find some japanese skateboarding talk too.
