That was good, but you know what would have made it even better, right?

The only prominent Japanese pundit I can think of is Mr. News, and he's as level-headed and moderate as it gets.

Whether he can be called a "pundit" is probably open to question, but the opinions of Ishihara Shintaro certainly resonate with a very large segment of the Japanese public. Opinion by Ishihara regularly appears all over TV and print.

I was gonna say "exceptional-ism." But Kitano works as well.

Off topic.... for a moment I wondered why I could see everyone's IP address.

Bill Maher is a simple minded douche that thinks the entire world revolves around atheists and non-atheists.

He is the most religiously atheist man I have ever seen. But, he has very good writers and so makes some very good political points. He has terrible timing as a comedian though. I wish Jon Stewart was delivering his jokes.

Really? Although Stewart is one of my favorite comedians, I always think today that his timing is really bad. He was a lot better at comedy when he was younger I think, but now he's more on the ball in a lot of other ways.

As for Maher, he's certainly not a deep thinker by any means, but I think that assessment might be a bit too much of an exaggeration for me. He's smarter than the average guy you meet on the street, but not nearly smart enough to be worth listening to for his intellect (putting his comedy aside).

Stewart is a lot smarter than Maher, and also a good deal funnier.

Here it is, from a Brazilian TV show based on American Idol (the interesting part starts at 40s):
