Yeah, I love games, but these days I tend to get a lot and not finish them ;(.
I think I've used the DS more for KanKen.
Edit: yay for my number of posts.

Yea get a 3DS if you want to play any of its upcoming games.
As for the 3D effect, apparently it varies per person but I personally love it and always play with the slider full on (without getting anything like a headache or w/e). For me it adds a great effect and makes the games look that more deep.
It makes the already nicely patched up Ocarina of Time look that much prettier (seriously, they did a great job of patching up the graphics while not throwing away the game's original style).

I hardly play any games anymore nowadays, I'm kind if on a Japanese break right now, don't really feel like learning anything b/c I never use it for anything But I did play Street Fighter demo on the 3DS when it came out. I don't really see how it looks 3D, but maybe that's just me.

Yeh, I almost posted the same thing yesterday. I'm definitely looking forward to it. I just ordered a Japanese 3DS last night. I'm going to pick up zelda soon too. I had an American 3DS but I got sick of everything being in English so I plan on selling it when I get back in the USA.

Unfortunately the 3DS is bombing, at least in the Japanese market -- the only game I really want to play on it is Kingdom Hearts 3D, but I don't want to have to buy one just for that.

I've totalled 80+ hours on mine.. including 33 hours of SSF4. I'd say mine has been value for money, and now I get 20 free games? awesome..
(Providing I can download from the Japanese Store from England that is)

personally, the 3ds is one of my favorite game systems. Even if there are a lot of remakes coming out, they are quite fun to play through again. It seems like all the systems that I love don't do well though. (ex: Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, Neo Geo, Virtual Boy)

Well, with the price drop coming I might consider buying it!
Do you just buy the Japanese version of the console and games off playasia, or any other better sites? Playasia seems to ship to all over the world, but I don't know if it gets too expensive to ship up to northern Europe.
Are there any disadvantages to having the Japanese system while not living in Japan that I should know of? Downloads etc? Thanks.

Play Asia will probably be the best place to buy one. The only disadvantages I know are that you won't be able to download the videos in Nintendo Video since they are IP locked, but you should be able to download games that cost from the eShop with a Nintendo Points card from Japan.

Well it's finally hit now, but I've become unsure. I don't see that many games I like right now, maybe I'll just wait.
Or aim for a PSVita. It isn't region locked.
