Hey everyone. I have been using the Japanese IME for my computer for a while now. But for some reason here recently it has been messing up. I was writing to my friend and I was going to say "let's meet" however when I went to type it it never gave me the option for what i wanted. This is what came up: 合間賞 and i hit the space bar to get more options but 会いましょう never showed up. Also, just today I tried to write "interesting" but it came up as おも白井 with the little underline over the おも 白 and 井. So i can't really fix it and i'm not sure why it doesn't work. What I want comes up when do hit the space bar as number 0 but I cannot select it. Do you guys have any tips?
ps[I am going to be out of town for three days starting here in a few hours so don't be upset if i can't answer back right away]
Thanks!

After just looking at it I think the problem might be that it's only using the onyomi and not the kunyomi. But I don't know how to change that.
This might be another reason too: When I hit the IME pad button to search for a kanji by radical or hand drawn, it shows chinese characters instead of japanese come up.

Try using shift+ ← → keys to control the string length

Just a quick update. I can't type any words in Japanese that have any trailing hiragana after them. I picked the Windows IME from the Japanese font list. I can't type ひどい in kanji or あたらしい in kanji. Is anyone else having this problem?

Probably a long shot, but can you look in the IME settings to make sure that the standard dictionary is selected?

Anyone else have trouble with Google's IME... disappearing? It's still installed, just doesn't show up anywhere and Microsoft IME becomes the default again in the language bar.
Edit: A quick Japanese search tells me a few others have had this problem but no one has replied with solutions as of yet.
All right, I didn't want to completely uninstall/reinstall, but I went ahead and it seems to have reset it to proper working order. We'll see if the problem repeats. My intuitive thinking is that it has something to do with importing the MS IME dictionary before, so this time I didn't.

Thanks JimmySeal! I was able to get this problem fixed. I went to the dictionary settings on the IME and it was set up for a custom dictionary. I clicked on the button that says Fix and it fixed my dictionaries! Now I got it all working.
Thank you all so much!^^
