I've been working with RTK2 for a couple of days... but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right in terms of efficiency,... to the people who worked through RTK2... do you have a pencil and paper and write the characters while memorizing the on yomi? Or do you just stare at the character and say the on yomi??? I haven't been using a pen and paper.. just looking at it and saying it but it doesn't really stick. I enter them in to anki but that take s alot of time though I did download the RTK2 deck but sadly the compounds aren't in there so i have to sit and type it out for each card. Even then with the flashcards, do you just look at it or do you write it too?

Also I've read the people find 1-2 other compounds for each frame... how do you go about this?.. how do you find other compounds with the specific character and the same onyomi?

I put together an Anki deck with all the vocabulary from RTK2 and RTK3. It's named "Heisig Kanji Yomikata". That said, you might have more success using other approaches. I think most people recommend something like Core2000 at this point.
