Where can I get colorful comics online in nihongo? (Not 黒 and 白, haha)

#1
Hi guys?

Recently I started to try and read (even though my Heisig frame is still ~200 so far, heehee) some comics like Doraemon at my bookstore.

I was wondering, I prefer to read colorful comics for now b/c its easier on the eyes. Can anyone reccomend some fun comic reading sites for comics in nihongo. Currrently Im hooked on:

Aside from informational pamphlets like that one, I don't think you're going to find many comics in color. But maybe someone here knows something I don't, haha.

Perhaps me means colorful in the figurative sense? Wink

JimmySeal, I don't know of any online comics that you might possibly be interested in. I geek over Rune Factory (game) comics they tease new games with but other than that I stick to articles and things like NHK. :\ Sorry.

Japanese manga is always in black and white. American comics are always in colour. It's the whole 真逆 thing.

It's definitely true that the vast majority of Japanese comics are in black and write, but you'll find that if you walk around a manga store there are some color ones (usually in the section where the manga are slightly bigger, and more expensive).

Popular comics in Japan are generally published in big magazines on very cheap paper with crappy ink--only later are they eventually made into a book of much higher quality. Since everything is published with super-cheap printing, almost everything is in black-and-white.

One color comic I can think of is ダーリンは外国人. Plus, being a foreigner, it's a pretty funny read (there is no furigana, so it's on the difficult side as far as manga go). I'm sure you could have it shipped to you from Japan, or you might be able to find it online--though this forum doesn't support that kind of thing.

These links are great! I just bookmarked a couple of the webcomics to read (more look at, at my point of knowing Japanese). It's more of a motivation for me to keep at studying Smile
