creation of an independent section for progress journal ?

#1
Considering how many people seems starting topic about their experience/their method I was just wondering if it woulnd't be worth to open a section just for that ? Gather all topics like my 15 month progress report , my 7 year report , etc. in one single section called "progress journal" , the same way there is a section for JPLT , job and college .
Not sure if it makes a good case for it as bodybuilders are mostly frowned upon (which is sad . It requires strong discipline , true knowledge of oneself capacity and continual experimentation .... you could say the same about langage learning ) but bodybuilding forum do that a lot . Strong motivation as you can really trace someone's progress on a long period , allow to pick method that are really relevant to everyone possibilities and agenda .

What do you think ?

I dunno, I don't like to write progress reports, but I like to read them sometimes. That kind of a thing would come in handy I guess.

I like the idea of a progress thread forum. I've seen a few forums with these, and they're always interesting to read.

Gets a thumbs up from me.

I'm not sure how the forum works, so I don't know if it would be trouble, expensive, etc...

But what I was thinking was that people could make blogs -- and then just link them to their 'Website' that shows up by their avatar.

Or at least... that's what I was thinking about doing ...

This forum is a huge blog on my journey through Japanese language, I just happen to share it with a few thousand other people Tongue

Idea is good, it would clear up the forum a bit and make it easier for people who are interested in them to find them.

I can see there are two 'Progress Report' topics recently bumped up, but are there that many such threads?

This is definitely something I would like to see, it would provide constructive criticism, while guiding those just starting..

Definitely would like to see this.

I think it's a great idea and a motivation booster.

sort of progress porn... (not that porn is a motivation booster, but still...)

Wouldn't be a bad thing. I'd love to hear other people's progress and any advice they will give fellow language learners like ourselves.

There are 3 or 4 from ta12121, 1 recent and who knows how many in the past. We could also have a few more thanks to such section.

hehe

ta12121's 1 week progress report: "It's going great! I can't produce well and can't show you but I can understand pretty much everything!"

ta12121's 1 year progress report: "It's going great! I can't produce well and can't show you but I can understand pretty much everything!"

nest0r's progress report: "That's a secret. But, I'm really good at self-studying how to self-study."

Get a blog.
My blog is at mevsjapanese.wordpress.com.
Sorry, I just started.

TextFugu recommends you get a blog. I haven't been doing it long enough to be able to personally recommend it.

A forum is not really the right place for discussing your progress with daily frequency (though I suppose it could be).

I like this idea! I am keeping a progress journal on Japanese and a couple other areas, but having it in the forum would enable people to comment and such.
