Well, grammar aside (which I'm not 100% sure of), usually Christmas and New Years are not linked together in Japan. Especially, I know that it's bad form to mention Christmas in a New Years card. Not sure if it's okay to mention New Years in a Christmas card.

I know that with New Years cards you write them as if they are reading them on New Years morning, no matter when they'll actually recieve them. Usually set phrases are used: 明けましておめでとうございます。 // 謹賀新年。 // 新春のお慶びを申し上げます。 // つつんで新春のお慶びを申し上げます。 In letters, there's a tendancy to write about spring coming during the winter months.

So, you have to wonder if it culturally makes sense, as well as grammatically.
