Not sure if anyone posted this yet, but a search for the URL in the forum returned no hits. So this is a site with stories for children in the 小学校 years, with separate directories for each year. The ammount of kanji increases with the years, but all stories are a fun and quick read. Try it out:

Most of the stories have a link at the top to the audio where a native voice reads aloud the story. Some are really good.

Just found some free anime apps on my iphone. If you search for "blue in the face" you will come up with about 7 free apps.
