The wii still has Last Story, Zelda and Pikmin 3. I think this is a bit premature.

God, I hope so. That's all I'm going to say, otherwise my inner fanboy will get the best of me.
Which apparently she dated some famous guy involved with Judo? So a small question is if it's possible to watch Judo somewhere... with Japanese commentary or something? I don't want to take this thread off-topic, so you can just e-mail me.

Out of curiosity I popped over to her blog to see what it was like.
I won't even post the link. It's awful. The writing grates on my nerves like nothing else.

I wouldn't mind...*ahem*...."taking down".....the "Nintendo Wii Killer" if you know what I mean........ ;-)
2010-11-17, 8:57 pm
Yeah. Sounds like she'd be making headlines.

I think the Nintendo Wii killer is actually a 疫病神 ...... :-p
learned that word from J-drama (Security Police, Episode 8 - 28minutes 44seconds )

chamcham, why did you write the exact location and time? Or a even better question, how did you remember that?
2010-11-17, 10:17 pm
@gyuujuice -- it's how he remembers vocab. He doesn't actually remember what it means, per se, he puts in the exact time that it occurs into his SRS, and he can just access his super-awesome memory and remember the scene, down to the exact dialogue that occurred.

Well, I remember it because I was just watching it..... :-p
And the word just fit well with the topic at hand.
It's a drama that I didn't finish and now I'm watching
the last few episodes.
In general, I pretty much only study drama subtitle scripts
these days. No textbooks for me....
I put the timing information there just in case anyone
want to watch that scene (lots of streaming j-drama
sites with full eps on the web). It was a pretty funny scene.
Sometimes when I'm talking to Japanese people and hear certain words, I can instantly
recall those words being used in specific scenes in J-dramas. It's like an instant flashback that takes me back to that scene.
Or sometimes if I'm in a real-life situation that also happened
in jdrama(like going to the supermarket or arguing with your girlfriend),
I can instantly act out lines that certain characters used word-for-word.
I pretend to be that character for that instant.
People then compliment me and say i sound like a native japanese... :-)
Yeah, just good photographic memory I guess.... :-p

Well that was insightful. I can remember where I learned certain (English) words, but I think it's a mere coincidence. I think I remember the event and the word just happened to be there. :\
I have yet to find a Jdrama sight good for Macs. Mysoju is good but lacking. The videos are often broken and now the adds are killing me. :S
What were we talking about again? Right -- I think the wii has a good year left.

chamcham Wrote:Or sometimes if I'm in a real-life situation that also happenedIt surprising nobody has found you out yet, like "hey, here's the guy that talks like tv shows!". You must use the quotes parsimoniously...

This chamcham technique sounds promising!
Also, that blog entry sounds funny, but it's probably just the law of averages.
Find any place/event she's been in/associated with, look +/- 3 months or longer in any direction for bad things happening. It's bound to happen. Atheletes get injured, bugs get in food, buildings go on fire, stuff happens. Or does it... *笑*
