One of the things I most appreciate about Rtk community is how much it boosts my motivation. Not just with the occasional word of encouragement, but just by showing me others tackling the difficult task of learning Japanese, their enthusiasm, their creative ideas, their tips to what's out there, their experiences, their collective knowhow (which is huge), etc.

Does any of you know of a forum with a similar level of participant energy and motivation for Japanese learners of English?

I have found many forums that would be very useful to Japanese learners of English (e.g. Lang-8), but none that match Rtk's focus on learning, nor it's motivation-boosting potential. Also, it is important that the forum's "lingua franca" be Japanese, because one of the roles for such a forum is a clearinghouse of solutions to problems specific to Japanese learners of English.

You might find something interesting on mixi. Though, it's more like facebook so the forum is within a "group" of English learners or whatnot. Other than that, I have no other leads. Could be interesting to find some to readthrough, though.
