I was playing around with Google trends the other day and was comparing the results of those search terms :
learning chinese, learning japanese
"learning chinese" had a boom in 2005, while "learning japanese" starts off with higher popularity but declines steadily over time; both have gone through a low at the last quarter 2006, with "learning chinese" recovering slightly. I wonder what this lower dent in the graph means.
Interesting also to see where the searches are coming from.
Sadly, "learning kanji - do not have enough search volume to show graphs".
