Hi, was wondering if anyone has some good apps that aren't learning games but are still in Japanese. Looking for something Japanese to play when I've got a few minutes but don't feel like studying.

If you like visual novels there are some good free ones, i.e N.E.D.E,　Selene, うたかたのそら（無料版), Abyssal Eden, Higurashi 1, etc.

Final Fantasy ad Inotia games you have to set your phone's language to 日本語.

The others have an option in game.


To change the phone's language: Settings -> General -> International -> Language

To anyone who likes visual novels: Searching for "ノベル" in the app store could prove useful (some of them are エロゲ though). Everything shows up with that search except for higurashi 1, which shows up with "higurashi" or "ひぐらし"

Just about anything is better than that abomination.

I've yet to find any good Japanese game for my iPod touch... it would be awesome if there is some social sim (like 'love plus' for the ds). I'm sure they exist.. Anybody know of any?

So far I've just downloaded random Japanese games/books and they are good for about 20 minutes of learning before I get really bored of them and just move on to the next game which works well, but it's a real pain to keep switching in between my Japanese and English itunes store accounts.

Infinity Blade was also localized in Japanese iirc, though I guess there is a difference between fun Japanese games and games that can be played in Japanese .

But in general it is quite great to have your iPhone in Japanese, more games and apps than you'd think have been localized to Japanese (thank you Apple for providing a build in API for that)

Angry Birds has Japanese and Chinese language options. Can't get more fun than that!
