Looks more like epic movie fail to me. I'm more interested in how you were able to make it far enough into the trailer to notice this.

If his character was a greedy capitalist and meant 財力 for 'wealth' or 'financial power' or something it would be lame Orientalism (invoking the mysticism of another language, kind of like a Japanese person getting the words "New Car" tattooed on their arm in English), but seeing the upside down and backwards characters is just hilarious. It's a fake tattoo, if image searches for the actor are any indication, which I suppose means the production budget ran out and they just grabbed a magic marker, a mirror, and um, stood on their head while writing the first part.

I was just watching a tonne of movie trailers to see if there was anything interesting I wanted to watch but it turns out that no there wasn't.
It's obviously not a real tattoo, 見た感じで it looks like its drawn on with sharpie.
And omg a hanzi smatter movie would be awesome.
I told a Japanese friend about it and he showed me a picture of a guy he and his friends saw wearing a shirt that say いい国を作るために、キャバクラブを作ろう or something like that. Was crackup.
