So anyone else here use Calibre? If so, do you know how to tell Calibre to download only metadata for specific fields? Like "Comments", for example. I guess I could ask at their forum, but I'd have to register and stuff.
Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. "Download only metadata" does the trick--at least, it adds a summary without messing up tags, cover, title, or author.
Edit 2: Ohh, customize plugins, uncheck boxes. ;p

Yeah I use it. It's quite powerful, and free, so I don't complain much. Ugly as hell as not at all intuitive though.
..OK, so I complain a little.
Best kindle management software there is though, and using acrobat + calibre you can get perfect conversion of PDF books to mobi (or epub), as far as I've discovered it's the only possible way.

I don't like the yellow bars on the side when I hide the tag/details browsers. But I like the cover browser.
Since getting my new computer I've caved and taken to using organizers/cover browsers for my media. Addictive.

I'm gonna have to look into this. I just got my iPad last Friday and the difference between PDF and ePub became painfully obvious. I just never thought before about the reflow problem.
So what's the main use you get out of Calibre? It's very easy to transfer epub or PDFs just copy /paste or drag files into iTunes "Books" and then Sync, so I'm guessing it's something else. Are you converting books? Making your own Japanese books from online text?
