Smile This is seriously one of the best places to learn about learning Japanese, whether you did RTK or no.

I personally use the DOxJG...and plan to select within JLPT5/4/3/2/whatever out of the JLPT lists what I remember seeing recently and think would be good to learn. IE, I've been seeing miru used in odd ways, or ways that I didn't know. So I'd run through that section, unsuspend the cards in the sentence deck, and add a short, simple explanation needed in case I fail. Easy peasy.

I'm shooting for 20-30 new vocab a day (kore 6k) and one to two new grammar sections depending on the length.

cloze deletion worked and plenty of context. I.e. cloze delete particles in the sentence/read a lot outside. I'll post more later tomorrow, gotta head to bed soon.

I just do sentences. I read the DOBJG section, ponder it, unsuspend the sentences, and get to them when I do. So far it's working well for me.

I used to do grammar by writing using 7 grammar points chosen from the JLPT lists and adding one card to a deck of grammar points I had covered (3 examples + clozed detele: what's the grammar point? How do I use it? Pass/fail based on the answer and descriptions on the back taken from DOBJG or the Tanos Kanzen list)

Basically, in terms of grammar, I found this to be enough for me to retain what I had learned without much of an SRS load.

Also, one of the things I also tried that worked was running through my list of grammar points I had covered 1 time per day making sentences in a pretend dialogue with myself. The idea was that I would get those points into my speech as well. Prior to recent events this was quite effective as well.

As for what I will do in the future. I'm not sure. I think if I continue with any grammar study at all, I will do the writing + adding over time. I feel that this mixture of production and recognition is quite powerful. Then again, the time used in writing can be quite long, and this does require a lot of creativity as well. It's sort of hard to say what would be the best approach for someone with less time on their hands. Anyway, I hope this helped.

Try tae kim's guide for grammar. That helped me a lot for grammar.
Cloze delete the parts that are being tested for the grammar point. A lot of the time do understand grammar you need to immerse. It just makes sense after a while of immersing/studying via anki
