Drumming in the streets of Norway! =)

#1
Hi everyone!
Me and friend of mine just finished editing a video we shot this summer.
We drove around in Stavanger, a small, Norwegian city, with a drum-kit, a camera and some weird ideas.
Here's the result - Enjoy!

Good camera technique, choice of locations, and timing between cuts. Besides that, I was entertained. The best scene was definitely the ocean one. It feels adventurous, epic, and reminds me of Nietzsche.

Great! Smile It's kind of "owning" the places with whatever you love to do Smile

This is fantastic! I also loved the ocean scene. It would make a great photo - both narrative and symbolic. The elevator bit was similarly surprising and stimulating. If only we could encounter more moments like that in real life!

The last scene reminded me of Bjork interviewing Tommi Grönlund in a documentary on modern minimalists. (youtube 0:00-2:18) In particular, the visual at 1:10 and his comments on the relationship b/w architecture, music and space.

Maybe you'll create some videos in Japan?

btw, Norway has the coolest telefon booths. I want one.

Well done, indeed, i must say, too!! I really enjoyed watching it, especially because the - for me - best scene was the last, where one just could see the outline of the drummer, at the end of a tunnel. It has something philosophical, yeah - epic stuff, keep it up. I wish you could do it in other countries, too, maybe somewhere in Russia (landscape vs. in-town contrast), or even better somewhere located in Japan (f.e. Tokyo).

Erm, just a suggestion, why not getting the drums onto a toilet or so (nice accustics, i tried with an accordion, it's just wicked lol).. Pick a few extra-ordinary locations again (like the telefone cell.. @Thora: haven't seen a german one, i mean, the Norwegian looks like the English one, doesn't it?)

Thumbs up, thanks for sharing!~

Excellent drumming and really interesting beats. I'm a pro and have heard my share of drummers in my 30 year professional career (played in Stavanger, too Smile and I must say your drummer (you?) is great.

My favorite was the phone booth. Fun!

Thank you guys!
Yeah, it's me playing the drums! =)
The phone booth thing wasn't planned at all, but when saw it we were like "Well... I guess I could fit my bassdrum in there... Let's go for it!"
And then we recorded it - using the camera-mic only! Haha! Big Grin

Seems like you've attained quite some fame. A vid I made for NRK's Slå på Ring years ago didn't quite compare with your success I guess.
