So, I was playing NetHack the other day when I thought it would be pretty novel if, instead of being a simple d, that pet of mine were a 犬.
While a quick search yielded nothing similar to my target (a Shift-JIS RPG), I know that one has to exist, based on the merit of how many indie shmup's are released each year in Japan.
It probably wouldn't be too practical for learning kanji recognition, but the novelty alone would make it a worthy effort to create one. Ah, but alas, I don't know how to program (as a certain, other, hobby is consuming my time at the moment).
