How do I get Japanese to render on MP3 filenames

#1
This is something that randomly bugs me. Sometimes filenames will display perfectly well in Kanji, and sometimes I get gobbledygook. I notice this especially when I try to type in filenames in Win7. Always I get gobbledygook.

Do I need to convert the characters to UTF-8 or Unicode or something? Because I just can't get them to render properly, and it's driving me nuts. Any help would be... helpful.

EDIT: Nevermind. I figured it out. Finally. I downloaded MP3Tag, and set the write preferences to ID3v2.3 UTF-16, and DoubleTwist finally started to behave. Tongue

Kind of a pain, but there you go.

Ah, thanks. I also had this problem with songs by one of the artists I listen to...
