I finished RTK about a month ago, took some time off from reviews when school started, and now I'm back in the swing of things. But I'm still going English Keyword --> Kanji.

I already speak Japanese fairly well, so the problem for me isn't not knowing any vocabulary that can go with kanji (there are some kanji for which this is true, but there are well enough for which I know words that I should be able to convert a lot, if not most, to Japanese). My problem is transitioning from the keywords (which have been imbued with so much meaning through my stories) to vocabulary words whose only connection to the kanji in my mind is whatever loose connection they might have with the keywords. Any advice on how to best do it?

Go through a list of kanji and see if you can attach the English word to it. Theno RTK with Japanese keywords. Once that is complete go through a list of kanji and see if you can recall the meaning in Japanese.

Or just go through smart.fm's lists and remove the words you already know.
