How to 'sigh' in Japanese (in text form of course)

#1
In english, sighing is obviously represented with the word 'sigh'.

For instance if I'm online and I find something disappointing, I'll comment:

"Sigh... that was bad."

How do I write that in Japanese? The "Sigh" part I mean.

Thanks Tongue.

I'll add one more:
へとへと
「へとへと、チョつかれた。」("sigh- I am super tired")

This is used to show that you are physically tired rather than showing boredom or something is pitiful etc.

Wow, lots of different ways!

I guess they all work? Or perhaps for different situations?

The guys on lang-8 who I asked (natives... I believe) said はぁ and あぁ. Also ため息 but somehow I don't think that they say that every time they sigh.

溜息 is the word for sigh, はあ and the like are the way people actually express it.
Just like we don't say "sigh", we say "ughhh" etc.

Ah, so ため息 is like the word "sigh", やれやれ would be like "Sigh... I'm pissed" if you wrote it in a text message, and "はぁ" is like "ughh" like you would say in real life?

Of course you could probably put はぁ in the text message too?

am I just overanalyzing or what

Yeah, that's pretty much it. やれやれ is more like 'tsk-tsk'.
The carry the same meaning in every medium.

edit:
まったく/ったく/ったくもう。。。 are what you would use when you're pissed off.

I was playing FF8 the other day - there's a guy in the Garden Library that is working on an assignment and he says something like "FFUUUuuuuuuuuu". If that helps.
