Voting is closed, thanks so much to everyone who voted, because it looked like Rett Syndrome won the funds. However, it's not yet confirmed, as Pepsi is still processing votes.
This is pretty off-topic, but I've come (desperately) spreading information about a good cause.
Maybe you've heard of Pepsi's charity site where foundation leaders apply to have their fundraiser voted for to win donations from Pepsi. Among many of the fundraisers is one for Rett Syndrome, a devastating disease that causes children to suffer till death, often when they are only below 10. The body attacks itself; muscles & bones slowly deteriorate, organs eventually shut down.
It's vital that this charity wins because researchers are just a step away from a cure, but the government isn't helping. If Rett takes 1st or 2nd place, $250k will be donated, & then another association will match it; totaling $500k.Tomorrow is the last voting day.
I know it's lowly to come here to ask for votes, but as a member of the Rett Society who knows children dying of this, I need to spread the word. Over the weekend, the Rett fundraiser was shuffled between 2nd & 3rd. 3rd place is something we can't let happen.
3 ways to vote:
1. Facebook App (simplest way if you have a facebook)
2. Text 100842 to Pepsi (73774) - standard rate applies
3. Main Site You need to create an account, which is a short process and doesn't require a real email address - no confirmation messages.
You can vote 3 ways daily - today and tomorrow.
Every vote counts, since this fundraiser is very close to losing, yet very close to winning at the same time.
