I keep confusing vulture with owl.
Today I would have swear that 猟 uses vulture instead of owl.
Any trick to avoid mixing their stories?

Pick a different primitive meaning?
For example, instead of "owl", you could pick a different bird to visualize, like a parrot. Maybe you had a pet parrot as a kid and have a lot of memories about it, I don't know. I switch up primitives all the time when I just don't feel like they're suitable.
Or, you could try to work with "owl" and just make it more visual, e.g. add in some traits about owls to each of your stories. Owls are smart and say "who, who" all the time, right? So add those characteristics to all of your stories about owls. The same goes for the "vulture" stories too, if those are getting you confused.
