Media with Japanese subtitles online

#1
Hi,

I've tried looking for a while, but I haven't been able to find very many Japanese shows or movies with Japanese subtitles; everything seems to have English subtitles. The only thing I was able to find was some romantic comedy dramas, but I can't stand those.

Anyone know a good place for Japanese subtitles for movies, anime, non-cliche dramas? I really need some 聞き取り練習, but it helps to be able to have the subtitles so I can confirm and find new vocab.

http://kitsunekko.net/subtitles/japanese/ (lots of anime subtitles)
http://mod16.org/captions/ (some rarer anime subtitles, but some dramas too)
http://www.kamigami.org/bbs/forumdisplay...sid=oMT8lM (apparently there are subtitles here, though the site is in chinese)
http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/subtitles.php#Japanese (loads of subs for loads of different drama's)

These are all the sites I use. Thankfully Japanese subs are getting more common, they used to be very difficult to find, but now almost every new series on d-addicts has subs, and a group called "elitist-fags" are releasing subs for a lot of anime.

Thanks! Is there a guide anywhere on how to get those subtitles working with videos/which videos they work on?

Well as to getting the subs working with your media player, I use vlc and it works without any configuration for me. I don't know about other players.

I'd suggest using aegisub to shift the timing of subtitles if they don't match the video you have exactly.

I've been watching NukeMarines YouTube videos on Using TV Dramas To Improve Your Japanese (thanks Nuke for this informative stuff!), and been browsing d-addicts for dramas. I see they use torrent, but I've heard a lot of bad things about using torrent and getting infected with nasties. Is it safe to use from this site?

Yes, d-addicts is safe. I've been using since it first came out. No problems at all.

I've found some episodes of My Girl (TV Asashi) and Kettai Kareshi on YouTube, just do a search. Also got the subs for these on d-addicts. Anyone else got any useful links, please post.

Am I the only one that finds it weird he said "anime, non-cliche dramas." If anything, you should be trying to find a non-cliche anime. I mean there's Cowboy Bebop and... maybe Trigun... Screw it, I don't watch anime.

Dramas can get pretty dang cliche, don't worry.

Oh yeah, I know that. I'm just saying he should've included anime in the group. But really I'm just nitpicking. Don't mind me I'll let myself out.

Hi bombpersons, do you still use the kamigami site? I managed to download subs for a series and it looks quite good, but they have this rather irritating points system, so I can't get it for some series...

I'm not entirely sure but I think I found Nodame Cantabile Japanese subs on Kamigami!

http://www.kamigami.org/bbs/viewthread.p...3D1&page=1

One catch, I can't seem to do the captcha part of the registration page! Can someone with an account PLEASE download these subs? I've been looking for them for quite some time!

EDIT: I've managed to do the verification question, thanks to google translate! I'll be trying to download the subs now =)

EDIT2: Can't seem to download. Not sure why. Post count not high enough?

EDIT3: Error means you have to post in the thread to download I think. Not going to bother, I just realised its the Nodame anime, not drama.

With VLC player, you can edit and tweak the audio AND sub timings if you like, in the program. So I suggest that.
