Japanese Games That Are IP Banned.

#1
K so i'm really keen on playing 鉄鬼 (てっき)
and the only option is try to the Japanese version. However its restricted to only those in Japan and all other foreign countries are IP blocked.

So far I've managed to get into the game through a good proxy server located inside of Japan and I can play the tutorial for the game but it won't let me connect to any games in the lobby. Which I have a feel is an IP issue despite the fact i've come this far.

Anyone have experience with this stuff??

No, experience, but I say screw it. If your not being able to join is IP related then there are other games... that aren't so weird >_>

You can use a packet capturing software like Wireshark and check what happens to all your connections. Specifically, look for dropped packages, and packages that don't get tunnelled through the proxy.

The game is probably using a protocol other than HTTP. Your safest bet is to use a Japanese VPN instead of a proxy - then all your traffic will outwardly appear to come from within Japan. I do this with US based stuff all the time - I'm in the UK and have a VPN from strongVPN. PacketiX.net has a free VPN and I think you can set up a Japanese one - there's also a premium service with better performance.

Yeah it was a socks5 proxy. I checked and it did appear as if my traffic was coming from inside Japan. Maybe that banned my account too from when I tried to play it without going through a proxy?
