Try hitting space after you enter the dots or pressing (/) instead (and then hitting space).

If you mean・・・・ just press the / key. I don't have to hit space on mine, just does it automatically.

As kazelee says you can either type '。。。' and hit space, or '・・・' (the / key) and hit space. At least on my Google IME (the one for Macs), both give me '…'.

It's pretty cool how the IME system will let you write stuff differently. For example, that you can get ☆ and ★ by writing ほし and pressing space.

I had the problem today that I didn't know how to write / in japanese, after reading this topic it occurred to me that I could use the same "technique" and indeed, すらっしゅ becomes /.

Type きごう and you'll get a lot of symbols. Apparently not heart, though. ㍻22
Although I think you can just type ・ and the IME will suggest / as an alternative.

はーと works just fine for the little heart in google's IME. Similar for すぺーど, くらぶ. Not sure if I'm missing a better way, but しかく will get you a diamond... but not the card suit one.
Some of the symbol sections in google ime are a little deficient out of the box. とらんぷ doesn't give you the card suits en masse, おんぷ seems limited to the single note instead of including ♩ ♫ ♪ ♬ . Then again, its quite possible I'm just missing the right keyword.

Yeah but not all of those work with the Google IME. Theoretically I would presume it's possible to convert the expanded symbol dictionary file from the Windows IME (IMJPSB.DIC I believe) in to something that the Google IME can import, but I don't know of anything off the top of my head.
If you did that, though, then all of that stuff should work fine with Google IME.
Edit: minor OS clarification
