Daijiren for iPad - does it take advantage of the better resolution?

#1
I plan to buy an iPad soon to study Japanese on the go with AnkiMobile and iBunko (at least), but not all software designed for the iPhone take advantage of the increased screen resolution found on the iPad.

Does the Daijiren suffer from this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Just to be clear, are you talking about 大辞林 (Daijirin) or 大辞泉 (Daijisen). Not sure whether you've mistaken the 6th or 7th letter - they are two different dictionaries and each has an iPhone/iPad app.

Sorry, I meant the Daijirin (大辞林).

There's not a specific version for the iPad, and in the changelog they don't mention adding iPad support. My guess is that you'd have to run it in 2x mode. Alternatively, there is the 大辞泉 which has a specific iPad version.

If you look in the Japanese store, there is a monolingual dic for the ipad with built in kanji entry.

Yeah, 大辞林 runs in 2x. It's very fast though, and kanji input still works great.
