Question regarding digital novels / visual novels.

#1
Hi everyone!
First of all - I'm sorry I'm starting so many threads, I'll stop soon, hehe! I just had one of those days when a whole lot of questions popped up. Smile

I'm currently reading the works of 村上春樹 (well, one book anyway...)
Even though I love reading books in "dead-tree" format, I would love to have modern Japanese books in digital format. Mainly because it would become copy-pastable.
Do you guys know of any sites where one can buy books of say 村上春樹 in PDF format or something? I don't care what format it is, as long as I can copy vocab from it.
All I can find is amateur-written novels, old novels with expired copywrites and books published in this so-called "digital book" format, that does not allow copy/pasting.
Help a brother? Smile

Another question - I'm really interested in reading some visual novels. However, I wasn't aware of the fact that 99% of them are aimed at guys turning on pre-mature, animated girls that removes their clothes more and more as the "plot" evolves. Gross. I'm really not into that, more disgusted to be honest.
However, I'm a big rpg fan, and love a good story. But I'm a bit tired of leveling, walking around, fighting etc. I just play for the story. That's why I figured a good, non-sex related visual novel would be awesome.
Do you guys know of any great ones? My platforms: Macbook, DS, iPhone and a netbook running Linux.

Thank you guys so much!! =)

I'm not really sure about either question, to be honest, but here's what little input I can give:

1. You might be able to find something within some threads about "innocent books" perhaps. I'm not sure if 村上 in in there or not though..

2. I would browse through http://vndb.org/ and see if you find anything that piques your fancy. It will tell you if it's sex-related or not.

Fate Stay Night has a good, long story. I clocked in 48 hours. It does have a few sex scenes, but they're very minimal, and feature no premature girls. You can easily skip them, since 1) there's a skip button, 2) the text involved in the sex scene is pretty funny and bad (as in bad writing), and 3) they have no relevance to the story at all, and the reason they even have sex in the first place is pretty BS.

If my logic is right, this proves that Aijin is an innocent girl.

Dare I make the connection between "innocence" and "premature"?

I recently finished Sumaga which was pretty good. Sex scenes are short/infrequent/skippable (slight plot point in Oki's though, still skippable). It also has a voiced protagonist(well, not till midway through) which is somewhat rare.

the plot is basically main character (shitman) yelling at god (some loli) to keep reviving him so he can get a happy end in a world with depressive magical girls.

It works fine on linux through wine.
