D-Addicts for movies? or Movie Recs?

#1
I love dramas, so I love d-addicts. Reading recommendation threads, or going to the wiki and jumping around from one theme to an actor, reading plot summaries etc. helps me make sure my Japanese exposure will be fun for me.

But sometimes I'm in the mood for a concise story that doesn't end on a cliffhanger. =P I'm talking about movies! So far I've been able to find a few blogs about Japanese movies, but nothing really comprehensive with thorough reviews or plot summaries. I'd love to find a forum or blog or something that would help me learn about Japanese movies. I'd prefer in English, but I could hobble through a Japanese site if that's all there is. =)

If there is no such thing - and indeed, even if there is - maybe we can get some movie recommendations right in this thread. =D I'd love to start us off, but the reason I made this thread is I don't know many movies...

Try out http://www.midnighteye.com/

I've found out about lots of good movies from there.

Two movies I would defiantly recommend are:
All About Lily Chou-Chou - リリイ・シュシュのすべて
Love Exposure 愛のむきだし

For stories, previews, trailers (and spy photography of films being shot on-location in Asia) of new Chinese films, go to:

Especially good for when you want to take a break from Japanese.

Google would have saved you a lot of time. Websites, sites with rating. It's got everything Wink.

http://twitchfilm.net/ is another good site, but it's not specially for Japanese movies.

Quote from website:

"Twitch specializes in spreading the news on strange little films from around the world."

A lot of Japanese films are talked about on this site. Often with movie trailers.
