How to get more context

#1
I just got back from a trip to japan a week ago and am realizing I need to learn with more context and more of everyday situations.

I completed RTK probably 4 or 5 months ago, completed the recommended tae kim chapters (all but the last two i think), and since then I have been learning on and off with 2001KO (usually hit a lull of boredom ). I have a pretty good grip on common grammar but just have very little vocab. I want to start learning with movies or some other way of learning every day Japanese.

I've had zero luck finding any Japanese subtitles for american movies that I know well. Is there any suggestions on where I can find that or maybe where I can buy the dvds? That is how you do the movie learning right? Get a movie you know well and watch it with the Japanese subtitles on? Or maybe is it that you need Japanese dubbing too, I have no clue.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can find subtitles/movies/how or any other resources to learn the every day language?

Try watching JDrama's.
I don't know, but I personally find watching american movies with JSubs a waste of time. You are prone to ignore the subs and listen to just the english (though solved with a dub), but why focus on english movies? No need to learn Japanese for those Smile
