Quote:Almost everyone stood when the bride walked down the aisle in her white gown, but not the wedding conductor, because she was bolted to her chair.

The nuptials at this ceremony were led by “I-Fairy,” a 1.5-meter-tall robot with flashing eyes and plastic pigtails. Sunday’s wedding was the first time a marriage had been led by a robot, according to manufacturer Kokoro Co.

You got married already, IceCream?? Tongue (Edit: Oh, I see. Hehe.)

You can see a short video that shows the robot and the newlyweds here: http://www.aolnews.com/weird-news/articl...t/19478943

I can definitely see why some people would want to choose I-Fairy over a stuffy priest to conduct a wedding.

Anyways, it sounded like there might be robot-led weddings in Singapore and the US soon, too. I think it'll be especially interesting to see the reception in the US.

@IceCream

LMAO. Random tangent. Overreaction seems to be the first instinct.

@Everyone else

Start another thread if you're going to talk about that crap.

I want one of those robots.

I think that this wedding was most likely a nonreligious one and that these robots would be intended primarily for performing civil marriages. I would be pretty surprised if any religious weddings anywhere in the United States started to be performed by robots, hehe.

anyway yeah, sorry Oblio!! car crash reaction...
No worries. (I didn't see the ad at all—I use a Firefox extension to block ads—but yikes, sounds like it was pretty bad.)

Even for nonreligious weddings, though, I think that a lot of people in the US will find the idea of getting married by a robot a little strange.

IceCream Wrote:my god, did you see the link at the bottom of that page ("single ladies" girls)?!? This is totally offtopic, sorry!! i'm pretty laid back about most things, but i can't beleive people are even trying to defend that. even putting peadophiles aside for a second, the entire concept is just so, so, wrong.

anyway, yeah, i think it'll go down well in some parts of america, but probably there won't be many churches in the south signing up for one... Wink
I was too distracted looking at the girl with the "grow your own rice bra" personally...

It's better than getting a wedding where the priest is just an eikaiwa teacher moonlighting on the weekends for 1万円 I suppose.
