"Icarus's wings melted when he flew too close to the sun. Here's hoping a similar fate doesn't befall his namesake, the solar sail due to be unfurled by Japan's aerospace exploration agency (JAXA) next week. If all goes to plan, it will be the first spacecraft fully propelled by sunlight."

Shouldn't happen... unless they took inspiration from NASA and measured the distance from the sun in 里 or something.

Launched: Space yacht that will sail on 'solar waves' to Venus

Looks like it'll be weeks before knowing whether the sail itself unfurls successfully? I will ready the Sunshine OST. ;p

Edit: "Boyle included 'Icarus' in the name of the ship to continue a theme of bleakness, opining that no Americans would give their craft such an ill-fated name. According to the director, 'They'd call it Spirit of Hope or Ship of Destiny. They'd call it something optimistic... in America they would sacrifice all plausibility, because there would be hope.'"
