food, menus and restaurants

#1
does anyone have a deck of japanese foods? I'll be visiting japan again in a few months and I'd really like to be better able to comprehend menus in traditional restaurants. Last trip i could read ラーメン and that was about it. Now I'd like to be able to eat at the places without english menus and not have to settle for the few things i can read or ordering by photo.

So does anyone have an existing anki deck for this sort of thing or if not, pointing me toward some resources to get me started on one would be much appreciated.

Thanks

i recommend eating 焼肉 while you are there..(order ハラミ) my favorite 焼肉レストラン is とらじ
餃子 is a great word to learn to...
that and 天ぷら and 豚カツ

i think there are food lists on smart.fm that you could use the anki-importer with if i am not mistaken

if you are a real food freak you can research all kinds of good stuff here: http://cookpad.com/

I think Google doesn't use algorithms, they use an army of Nestors to provide the results.

This brings about a wonderful idea.

Since I have a 8 megapixel camera on my phone, and I do eat out quite often, I could start taking pictures of the menus of the places I go!

If anyone has any suggestions of good food, or restaurants that you want to know about, I'd be willing to head out and eat some din-dins while helping my fellow students.
