running site off my hard drive

is there any way I can download the whole site and run it from my hard drive? besides going page by page and downloading them, that is. sometimes im on the road and cant access internet but i still neeed to study. that's the reason. thankxs

If you want the site for its SRS program then I recommend using Anki as it works offline. If you want the stories however, then you will need to download the webpages for each kanji I'm afraid, unless you can find a program to automatically download thousands of webpages Smile.

You can go to:

Study => All my stories => Export to CSV

Then you can open the csv file with your favorite spreadsheet software and use your stories offline.

Are you hoping to access all the stories offline - not just your own? I don't know if the offline archive (chm) linked in the following thread is still available. (If so, I imagine it'd be as of Sept 09):

Download the compressed HTML using the unix shell script here:

But doctorcolossus's CHM is better - it has a table of contents.

1.3 is now available, updated to work with the new site, and with a table of contents

there's also a zip of a rip made today
