bodhisamaya Wrote:Although it's a completely stupid solution to the problem, I think I saw on the news the other day that one of the reasons they did it is because after a certain replay was shown during a game, it resulted in a huge fight between players, coaches, fans, etc. I don't remember exactly what game it was, but maybe I'm thinking of something else...somukeru Wrote:It is hard to believe, but yea, that actually is their response.bodhisamaya Wrote:FIFA to ban big-screen replaysThis has to be a joke surely? Either way, absolute crap from FIFA regardless. I'm from the US, and notwithstanding the TWO disallowed goals, the overall quality of the reffing this World Cup has been abysmal. Yellow cards for accidental handballs, yellow cards for balls that didn't even touch the hand, no consistency with calls (yellow card for one tackle, 5min later, a player almost kills someone with the same tackle and just gives up a freekick).

Referees are on crack in this world cup.
Kaka's expulsion was totally stupid, for instance.

*sigh* And we lost again in the semi-finals just like last time :/
Will I ever see my team win the World Cup?
The first two times I wasn't even born yet and the third time I was too young to watch soccer :/
Guess Spain will win the World Cup now :/

The Netherlands played a little aggressively but the number of yellow cards in the final was just ridiculous. All in all the final wasn't a great match. both teams were showing desperation and screwing up at crucial times, like when when one dutch guy went for a shot at the goal but just kicked air, and the flow was constantly interrupted by the referee declaring fouls and dishing out yellow cards.

So Japan beat China 3-0 in Guangzhou tonight, no? I think it was on justin.tv but I missed yet another game. Ah well. Wonder if Honda was there wearing his 無回転 boots.
