In what regard? It basically feels like an old version of firefox, with missing features. It's not really going to ever have a large userbase or anything. As far as benchmarks go, its also not really been shown to be any faster than stock firefox for the most part.

What particular aspects of the new extension model will cause problems with rikaisama? A version of rikai runs on Chrome, so I would at least assume that the most important core features are still supported.

Mozilla seems to be willing to implement new features on top of the WebExtensions model in order to enable support for popular extensions like NoScript. It looks like that are asking for plugin developers to reach out to them to let them know what is needed. So, I would probably try to have a chat with them in regards to if something will not be possible on their new extension model.

Mentioning a Chrome extension like Rikaikun in the same sentence as a Firefox extension Rikaisama is literally an insult to humanity.

I think Pale Moon is great, but it probably will only appeal to people who really don't like the direction Firefox is moving in. It feels like an older version of Firefox, but that's a very good thing to me. When I realized that the purpose of about half of the addons I was using in Firefox was to make something in the browser interface more like pre-Australis Firefox, I decided to try out Pale Moon, and have been really happy with it.

iBooks on iOS formats them very well so the text select is easy, but the FFox built in pdf viewer looks horrible and doesn't register text with rikaisama in these pdfs.

Being able to use these horizontal pdfs with Rikaisama would be a dream come true.

Do you have any suggestions?

I would pretty much go with whatever browser supports rikaisama; it's up there in terms of importance for me along with uBlock Origin and NoScript.

I don't want to be too forward; but my Rikaisama has stopped working since Firefox's last update (Firefox 40.0.3), when I click on the plugin icon nothing happens, it also strangely disappeared from the right click context menu, however it seems to be a minor bug or something.

Seems to be working fine for me. Are you using Rikaisama version 22.7?

has anyone tested whether Anki Real Time Import still works fine in Windows 10? I'm thinking about upgrading from win7 but windows has a talent to ***** things up so I would be much more confident if someone could confirm that it still works .

A non "compact" option for the saving sentences/words would be nice.

It's a problem with all so called "unsigned apps", not just Rikaisama. It's not the app developers' fault. It's Mozilla's.

For some stupid reason, they decided not to allow Firefox users to install unsigned apps. Not even as an opt-in option. There apparently are some workarounds, but they seem to involve hacking Firefox (so it would be a lot of tinkering - I'm a programmer, and I still didn't have the patience to read through the whole article explaining how to do it).

Hopefully, Firefox will sort this out soon, and put in a security setting that would allow users who know what they're doing to install whatever they want in their browser. In the meantime, the quickest solution to the problem is to just roll your Firefox back to an earlier version (Firefox 39 would be the last good option). You can do that simply by downloading Firefox 39, installing it over your current Firefox, and then disabling updates.

P.S. Oh, I should've read cb's post. I guess the updated version of Rikaisama is signed? Oh well, I wish that would help me too. Unfortunately, I have to continue sticking with Firefox 39, because I have a lot of other add-ons that are much less likely to be updated anytime soon.

I've just updated Rikaisama to version 22.7, it is signed and working perfectly.

Now you mention it, I don't really bother rolling Firefox back to previous versions, in fact my add-on
library, being pretty much basic; has not been wrecked by the "signing" thing.

Actually, I'm eagerly awaiting version 41 of Firefox, which will be released later this month, just because I want to be able to read vertical script rendered using cb4960 sama's JNovelFormatter, it's been my dream to read novels "properly". I tried tons of no good java scripts and plugins, but eventually it is anticipated that Firefox 41 will natively display vertical text.

Would you mind sharing the concepts of your tweaks to Rikaisama? It seems interesting even though it doesn't actually need any modifications for my needs. However I'm sure you've posted this elsewhere... sorry

I just started importing words again recently after getting the most recent update. I haven't changed any settings and never had problems before, but now every time I try to import certain words I'm getting this:

Error, too few fields, line not added!

It only happens to certain words, most import just fine. I'll post the words it's giving the error with:

And many more like this. Again, most words import fine, so I don't know what's causing these words to cause an error. Is there an easy fix I can do on my end?

Edit - I noticed a commonality between all the words, none of them have frequency information. I think this might be part of why they aren't importing properly, could it be?

Sorry if I'm asking a very basic question, I've looked around the sourceforge page and couldn't find anything.

Hovering over きく for example will give me multiple entries, the first is 菊 (Chrysanthemum morifolium) and the second 利く or 効く (to be effective)
If I press R while hovering きく the card that will be imported will be 菊 and its definition, how do I make it so it's 利く instead?
While looking at the sourceforge page I noticed something about switching between entries but apparently that only works with EPWING mode

I just started using Rikaisama (v22.8) after using Rikaichan for a while, and I'm liking it a lot. I am having a minor issue that I couldn't find menioned elsewhere though. I use Debian Linux with the XFCE desktop environment. Like other desktop environments for Linux, XFCE's default settings map Alt-click to the action of moving a window by grabbing any part of it, not just the title bar. Although this can be reconfigured, I don't like to alter what have become standard keyboard shortcuts for Linux desktops as it makes things confusing when one has to move between different machines running Linux. The result of this is that I cannot use Super Sticky mode on a link without opening that link since Ctrl-click is a Firefox shortcut for opening a link in a new tab. An earlier post detailing some version changes seemed to indicate that Ctrl-click had a similar problem in the Mac OS, and that is what lead to the addition of Alt-click as an alternative lookup command. The fact that Alt-click allows one to perform a lookup on a link without opening it in a new tab seems to have been a windfall. Perhaps a simple solution would be to make the lookup command for Super Sticky mode user-configurable. That way users could pick a key/click combination that does not conflict or overlap with other commands.

I don't really have anything to add or report, but I just wanted to drop by and say thank you for making this amazing tool. Ever since I've started using it, my vocab ability has grown tremendously, and combined with the audio feature, I've found a study tool that just works for me.
