I have the daijirin J-J dictionary files but I'm having trouble having it being recognized when I try to add to Rikisama' s EPWING dictionaries.

I click 'add' several times as I go deeper and deeper into the sub-folders, till I get to a folder "Data", however after I enter that folder, nothing appears, thus I can't add any files to EPWING.

You need to enter the path of your dictionary's CATALOGS file.

I am trying to use Real-Time Import addon and have tried various options in the save format tab in the Rikaisama firefox addon and various options in the Anki tab field box as well as adding fields in the Anki program but I always get the error message, 'Error, too few fields, line not added'. Is there a set way of doing this to avoid these error messages?

Since I've finished Core 10k I'd finally like to add my own cards to Anki, and the less time consuming method seems the Real-Time Import feature of Rikaisama.

Importing the vocab entry only would be also great, but importing the sentence would be even cooler.

Is any of you using this method for adding sentence cards? Which dictionary are you using? Is it difficult to set up?

EDIT: Nevermind, I realized that the example sentence is taken from the selected word's context and not from the dictionary. I was mouse-hovering single words so that's why it didn't import the sentence.

Hey Guys,

I just installed the up-to-date version of Rikaichan on Firefox on my new Macbook Air and the feature you use to export to Anki is missing the function of exporting example sentences and choosing the order of the variables that appear in the text file you create. I had this feature under the preferences of Rikaichan on my old Macbook but I can't understand why it has disappeared.

Has anyone else had this problem? The only thing I can think of is that I had installed either Yomichan or another plug-in which added this feature. Can anybody offer a solution?

It sounds like you installed the original Rikaichan, instead of the improved Rikaisama by cb4960.

Is there a comprehensive list for vocab with frequency level between 1-6000?

it might be better if i can study that first.

and i'd really like to save frequency level for the vocab as well. is there a way yet?

I just realized that saving vocab as Kana will result in incorrect audio name and it wont be played in Anki. For example,

If I saw the word 首をかしげる and I saved it as Kana (pressed X) then rikai-sama will refer to media name as "[sound:くびをかしげる - くびをかしげる.mp3]" . But the actual audio file is saved as "くびをかしげる - 首をかしげる.mp3" in the media folder.

Is this a bug ?

The frequency value in rikai sama didn't match the corresponding value in its database

It seems like there are 442 entries with a frequency of 79296 and 蔓延る is one of them.

I see, thanks for looking it up.

Although I'm bit surprised that Rikaisama would grab the "79296" entry rather than the "20780" one since the highlighted word is in the kana form.

Yes. I'll fix it in the next release. Currently, Rikaisama doesn't currently consider the highlighted word. It merely looks up the expression, and if that doesn't exist in the database, it looks up the reading.

I am curious if there is a way to automatically add it to a particular deck every time instead of having to switch to the deck in Anki.

I'm not really familiar with Python, but I know how to edit stuff, so if it's as simple as changing a line of code somewhere it wouldn't be a problem; however, I don't know what to change. So does someone know how to do this, and if so would you let me know how please?

Basically, I'm going through a subs2srs deck, and there are quite a few vocabulary words I don't know, so I'm using another plugin to jump to a browser search for the definition, then I mouse-over the vocab and add it my Rikaisama Anki deck. I would like to not have to back out of my current session and just add it to the singular deck every time.

I tried installing the latest version but it didn't seem to actually send anything to anki (no tooltip when pressing R).
Also installed the debug version you put a couple of pages before but no issues appearing in the console.
I can send a message to Real-Time Import in a python shell so I'm wondering whether something is wrong on the UDP lib you're using on linux/ff34 ?

Mac is not a supported platform.

What's New?

● Changed logic for finding word frequency.

Old logic: When frequency for the expression exists, use the frequency for the expression. Otherwise, frequency is not displayed.

New logic: When the reading and expression differ, and the highlighted word does not contain kanji, and the reading is unique, and frequency for the reading exists, use the frequency for the reading. Otherwise, when the reading and expression match, and the frequency for the reading exists, use the frequency for the reading. Otherwise, when frequency for the expression exists, use the frequency for the expression. Otherwise, when frequency for the reading exists, use the frequency for the reading. Otherwise, frequency is not displayed.

When the frequency is based on the reading, and the expression and reading differ, "_r" will be appended to the end of the frequency number to indicate that the frequency number was based on the reading.

● When highlighting the kana form of a word (ex. わかる), the frequency is now provided for all possibilities (分かる,　判る, etc.).

Doesn't work with e10s (Electrolysis), like Rikaichan. In non-e10s tabs all works fine.
How to reproduce:
1. Install Nightly from http://nightly.mozilla.org/
2. Install Rikaisama
3. Try it with e10s
