Actually neither of the last two are legal, since 探警 and 健田 are not words (as far as I and WWWJDIC know anyway). You can't have two character's next to each other unless there is a word linking them. Sorry if that wasn't clear from the initial post...

It also lines up fine for me in Safari 3 beta. Some people must be using non fixed width fonts in their Windows (the default?).

Ok I'm not even going to bother now, as people have put in the RIGHT spaces using Japanese IME and some others have used the WRONG ones which aren't as big using English IME...

So now it's a jumble of the two. :/

It's not anyone's fault, yesterday I made a post at school and it was fine.. but when I got home my own post looked wrong..

I found out those hyphens work better at keeping the spacing right. I was wondering if you can make more than one addition at the same time (I made four up there). In case it's not allowed, just delete the ones you like the least.

Actually this is a bit adapted to the format - when we played on paper, we circled each new compound, so there was no ambiguity as to which pairs were intended and which were not. However, we also only played with two-character compounds, so the board was much tighter. I think it balances out.
