bebio Wrote:hmm I guess it is just not my thing. Everytime I listen to this, I feel like I am playing Turrican on the Amiga 500. Besides, defining this band Whispered as Samurai metal is kind of misleading, since the violin work and scales they are using come from China, not Japan. Also that koto sound is suspicious. I play koto, and the sound I hear is more reminiscent of Chinese or Korean versions of the Koto. But since there are several types of koto, and I did not play all of them, I admit I could be wrong. It makes more sense to call this Oriental Classical Metal. But all the power to you guys for enjoying it.Who said they enjoyed it? I didn't like it. What'd you think of my recommendation, Phroq? ^_-
I will stick with my Dillinger Escape Plan, Zao and Converge for the time being.
Is Phroq similar ? I couldn't get search results in Grooveshark. (mind that seems totally unrelated to the subject topic ?) Edit: Oh I see, Converter:Resolution also has oriental sounds;... very cool!

(koto or shamisen or whatever ;p)
There's another noise track that uses that koto song Godan-Kinuta or something but I forget who did it.

Then again, perhaps I should be saying you can buy the track online. ;p
