I'm curious, is there a place to find Ozu's silent films with Japanese and English title cards, online? Surely they're old enough to be copyright free? I'm searching now but so far no luck. Edit: Looks like only DVD is available, Silent Ozu.

Also, what are some short Japanese films on YouTube/etc. that you like? I really like this one by Kosai Sekine, called Right Place, although it doesn't have any dialogue. ;p

Not sure if it's the same with Ozu, but due to, you know, wars and stuff, there are no prints for many of Mizoguchi Kenji's films (originally there were around 80). So that might be a reason why you can't find them.
