ok, so i wanted to download some video so that i could cut out some sound clips from them ( they are so great with the scripts), but im having a hell of a time accomplishing this.

tried a million different add ons in firefox

tried directly streaming into audacity but it won't work with my crappy soundcard

tried that thread with the program that mentat_kgs wrote to get scripts and audio - honestly I don't know the first thing about programming. Although it seems really great, I don't really want to learn all about programming and ruby and complicated things just to get some audio from a website. Im a windows user who thinks linux is great but can't accomplish basic tasks in it.

I dont know if its just my settings in firefox, but i used to be able to steal the video rather easily.

i would appreciate any help because im at my wits end

I'm not sure about tbs, but fnn broadcasts its videos using RTMPT when using flash player, which none of the addons I know can capture. You should be able to record from your sound card, if your on vista, recording may be disabled. This link tells you how to enable it.

my sound card doesnt support stereo recording even if i enable it - i spent the better part of 2 hrs on that.

im going to try to get this orbit thing going - it downloads a swf file, but nothing more yet. ill get it sooner or later

It didnt work on the main page, but the orbit thing worked when i played the wmv file.
